Dear CICS Northtown Academy Families and Caregivers,

We are writing to inform you that school will be closed tomorrow, January 23, 2026 due to the forecast of dangerously low temperatures and wind chills. The safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff are always our highest priority. With expected frigid conditions overnight and during the day, including temperatures and wind chills that can increase the risk of frostbite and hypothermia, we believe this decision best protects our community.

What this means

  • There will be no in-person classes at school tomorrow, January 23, 2026.
  • Any after-school activities and events are also cancelled.

Severe Cold Safety Tips

Please take precautions to stay safe if you must be outdoors:

  • Dress in multiple warm layers — coat, hat, gloves/mittens, scarf, and warm boots.
  • Limit outdoor exposure, especially for young children and older adults.
  • Frostbite can occur quickly in extreme cold; seek warmth and shelter if you feel numbness or pain in exposed skin.
